Character fx

Role and Responsibilities

  • The Groom/CFX Artist is responsible for creating high quality hair, fur, feathers for characters and character-related 3D assets in a photorealistic or stylized manner for game cinematic projects.
  • Build and manage hair, fur, feathers dynamic rigs for simulations.
  • Good understanding of hair physics and movement for hair and fur simulations.
  • Complete character FX work on a shot-per-shot basis.
  • Check for and fix penetration and intersection problems.
  • Work well in a team in an efficient and timely manner, and keep to the production schedule.
  • Be creative and proactive in problem solving technical issues with all relevant department tools, suggesting improvements and optimizations if/when necessary.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and rapid turnaround times.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a 3D artist or in a related job.
  • Background with Arts, Diploma or self-taught.

  • Knowledge of Maya, Xgen, Yeti, Unreal Engine and zbrush.
  • Experienced with Maya's nHair system workflow.

  • The ClothSim/CFX Artist is responsible for creating high quality cloth sim for characters and character-related 3D assets in a photorealistic or stylized manner for game cinematic projects.
  • Create a cloth rig and dynamic rig for simulations.
  • Good understanding of cloth physics and movement for cloth simulations.
  • Good understanding of hard surface movement for dynamic simulation. (exp : chain, wire and accessories).
  • Complete character FX work on a shot-per-shot basis.

Role and Responsibilities

  • The VFX Artist is responsible for creating high quality of VFX in a photorealistic or stylized manner for game cinematic projects.
  • Conceptualize, design, and produce a wide range of VFX elements such as particle, fire, smoke, water, RBD simulation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the consistency and quality of visual effects across all aspects of production.
  • Work closely with the team to understand project requirements and develop innovative VFX solutions that align with the artistic vision.

Modeling

Role and Responsibilities

  • Create detailed and realistic 3D character models based on concept art, sketches, or design briefs.
  • Familiarity with creating characters in different styles such as realistic and stylized.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, form, and silhouette.
  • Optimize character models for performance without sacrificing visual quality.
  • Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Maya, ZBrush.
  • Excellent texturing and shading skills.
  • Knowledge of rendering engines such as Arnold and Redshift, and their respective workflows.
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine, including asset importation, material setup, and basic scripting (knowledge of Unreal Engine is a plus).
  • Familiarity with optimization techniques for real-time rendering.
  • Ability to create models with good topology, ensuring clean edge flow for optimal deformation and efficient rendering.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

As an Environment Artist you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of assets, be it hard surface, organic, live or inanimate objects. Whatever the environment and story calls for, we provide. You will need to have a keen eye for detail and environmental storytelling, as well as an understanding of how things can come together in both realistic and fantastical settings.

  • Interpret initial briefs or 2d concepts and translate them into 3d models accurately.
  • Model and texture individual assets or block out, refine, and set dress entire environments.
  • Work together with other departments (for example rigging and simulation) to provide and refine assets based on more technical requirements.
  • Optimize assets and environments for performance without sacrificing render quality.

Requirements

  • Familiar with the process of asset creation from modeling, texturing, material setup, to rendering (both pre-render and real time)

Concept Art

Role and Responsibilities

  • Stylized Design Expertise: Specialize in stylized and cute concept designs, including characters, environments, and props.
  • Create high-quality concept artwork for production and marketing.
  • Work closely with the team and other departments to deliver the required concept art.
  • Independently manage tasks and personal schedule, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Act as a mentor for junior artists when required for specific projects and tasks.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional experience as a concept artist, especially in stylized projects.
  • Background in arts, whether through a diploma, degree, or self-taught.
  • Strong understanding of art fundamentals, including anatomy, perspective, color & light, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in Photoshop.

Bonus

  • Familiarity with other 2D & 3D software such as Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, After Effects, etc.
  • Experience working on storyboards and animatics.
IT

(Preferably with knowledge in network and server systems.)

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining servers and setup.
  • Troubleshoot server issues, FTP, and VPN firewall issues.

Rigging

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement high-quality rigs for characters, creatures, and mechanical objects, ensuring they are intuitive and efficient for animation.
  • Work closely with animators, modelers, and technical artists or any related departments to understand and meet the rigging requirements.
  • Create accurate skinning solutions that provide the desired deformation results.
  • Develop and maintain rigging tools and scripts to streamline the rigging process and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve rigging issues as they arise during production.
  • Document rigging processes and workflows to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency across the team.
  • Optimize rigs for performance while maintaining the required functionality and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends and techniques in rigging and recommend improvements to our existing pipeline and workflows.

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of professional experience in rigging for film, television, or video games.
  • Proficiency in software such as Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Unreal Engine or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, kinematics, and deformation.
  • Knowledge of facial rigging and blend shape techniques.
  • Understanding of skinning techniques and ability to achieve high-quality deformation.
  • Ability to create custom rigging tools and scripts to improve the rigging pipeline.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
